What actually is Botox?
Botox is given in the form of injections and are noted primarily for their ability to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. Botox Treatment is a considered a safe, effective treatment for wrinkles around the eyes( crow’s feet), frown lines (in the glabellar region), horizontal forehead creases, etc.

- For esthetics, botox is used for reducing frown lines (at the glabellar region), wrinkles around eyes ( crow's feet), wrinkles around the mouth, nasolabial folds & smoothening out of neck wrinkles.
- Cervical dystonia, a neurological disorder that causes severe neck and shoulder muscle spasms
- Severe underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis) an overactive bladder.
- Blinking that you can’t be controlled (blepharospasm)
- Eyes that point in different directions (strabismus)
- Botox injections may also help prevent chronic migraines.
- This medicine is given by injection by experienced health care professionals. It is injected to the affected muscles (intramuscularly) while treating eye disorders, muscle spasms/muscle stiffness, and wrinkles. When used to prevent migraines, they are injected into the muscles of the head and neck. It is applied to the skin (intradermally) to treat excessive sweating. In the treatment of saliva / excess saliva, the drug is injected into the salivary glands. When treating an overactive bladder, it is inserted into the bladder.
How does it work?
Getting Botox treatment only takes a few minutes & you will need topical anesthesia. Botox is injected into specific muscles with only slight discomfort. Your dose, the number of injections, place of injection, and frequency of Botox treatment are determined by your condition and your response to treatment. In children, the dose is also based on weight. Most people begin to see results in a few days to 2 weeks, and the effect usually lasts 3 to 6 months.
